Listen, Learn, Praise, Stand

Listen to the Lord. He speaks to us in many ways.

Deuteronomy 32: 1 Listen, O heavens, and I will speak; hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
• Listen to the heavens. The vastness of the stars speaks of God’s size; he is bigger than all of our troubles.
• Listen to His creation. See the beauty and complexity of His earth, which is his footstool; He is a God who wants to share beauty, diversity, and please our senses. He is a God of unlimited knowledge, wisdom, and caring. See how He has set the animals and the weather in place to care for us all.
• Listen to the Holy scripture. His Word is alive. Every time you read the Word of God, he will reveal more to you. His secrets are many and His mysteries confusing, but when we turn ourselves over to Him, He becomes our God of revelation. He teaches us and explains His secrets and mysteries to us in good season according to His wisdom and His will.
• Listen to the soft voice of His Holy Spirit. The comforter. His gift to us. Our strength. He guides our feet even when we believe we are alone.

Be a student of the Lord.

Deuteronomy 32: 2 Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.
• His teaching is like gentle rain upon the fields. It cools us. Comforts us from the heat of and troubles of the world, and protects us from the fire of the Devil.
• His teaching feeds and nourishes us. As grass in the field, we soak up the teaching of our God. We grow strong with His dew of the morning. We flourish with the gentle rain upon us. We stand tall and reach to heaven as the grass stands on a sunny day.
• Our leaves catch the rain. We are cleansed and restored by the abundant shower of teaching which is from God.

Stand up for Christ. Praise His Name

Deuteronomy 32: 3 I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!

• Do not be ashamed of the Lord, but be blessed by the enemies who speak against you. If they hated Christ then do not be surprised if they hate you.
• Christ died for our sins upon a hill of shame, upon the cross of a criminal. Is it then too much to ask that we proclaim Him as boldly as He died for us? We shall not be ashamed of Christ, for He bore all of our shame on the cross.
• Praise the Lord. Lift up His holy name. Give all thanks to God. Worship Him who has given His children everything.
• Praise our heavenly Father. Praise our King. Praise our savior. Praise our Lord.

He will not be Shaken, nor shall we.

Deuteronomy 32: 4 He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He.

• Our God is the unmovable rock. He is not shaken by the activities of this world.
• Our God is greater than His creation. He is not shaken by the enemy and his demons. He is greater than all of the storms life can send our way.
• Our troubles do not shake Him, and if build our house upon that rock which is Christ, we shall not be shaken.
• Even when the storms come against us, we do not stand alone. He holds us up. He warms us against the chill that is the storm of suffering, sorrow, pain, sadness or fear.
• He is faithful to His children. We shall never walk a day, nor a moment without Him by our side.
• Our God is perfect. He never makes mistakes. He is always holy.
• Our God is never wrong. He does not mistreat us. We can always trust and believe.

His Word is True

Deuteronomy 32: 1-4 Listen, O heavens, and I will speak; hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He.

Our God is a Holy and Faithful God. He does not leave us. He is always there. He gives us blessings beyond what we deserve. If you days seem bleak, turn your face toward Him. His loving rain is nourishing you even when you do not feel it. His arms are about you even when you feel alone. His joy is about you even when all you feel is sadness.

Our God is eternally faithful and He is always there.
